First Call - Junior Scientist Conference 2010 “SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY FOR THE FUTURE” – Young researchers present their results
The Junior Scientist Conference 2010 will take place at Vienna University of Technology from April 7 - 9, 2010.
The main idea of such a conference is to give young scientists a first chance to present their research results. All contributions to Science and Technology on the level of Master and PhD thesis are welcome. This conference also includes four sub-conferences on the following topics:
- Computational Science and Engineering
- Materials and Matter
- Information and Communication Technology
- Energy and Environment
Awards:
The best poster in each category (Master Category and PhD Category) will be awarded € 1.000,--. In addition, a few Special Recognition awards will be given out in each category.
Requirements:
- Students of Master and PhD programs in Science and Technology should hand in a two page paper of their research work until February 5, 2010. Papers with reference to one of the topics of the four sub-conferences are preferred. The papers must be uploaded via the online paper submission system. For details on how to access the paper submission system and templates regarding format requirements please check our web site at http://www.tuwien.ac.at/jsc10.
- The papers will be reviewed by a scientific committee which will render its decision in early March 2010. The selected students will receive an e-mail notification. Once selected, students should then register via the registration link indicated in the e-mail for the conference participation, pay the conference fee (conference fee is € 80,-- until March 21, 2010, afterwards € 90,--) and prepare a poster (size DIN A0 – visit the web page for further details) to be presented at the conference.
- The conference will start on April 7 in the early evening with a Get Together at Vienna University of Technology. The posters will be put up in the evening of April 7 and in the morning of April 8. The actual scientific program will take place on April 8 and April 9. The best posters will receive the award at the end of the conference (April 9, 2010 at lunch time).
